About Engelsma Heating & Cooling

Engelsma Heating & Cooling is a family owned company with 30 years’ experience serving residential customers in Grand Rapids and the surrounding region, including the suburbs of Walker, Wyoming, Jenison, Allendale, Comstock Park, Kentwood and more.

Ted Engelsma started the business in 1984, and turned over management of the company to his son, Tim, in 2011. Ted still works “part-time” at Engelsma Heating & Cooling, though Tim says that amounts to about 40 hours per week. “That’s part-time for my dad.”

Tim began working with his father since he was 12, and took on a regular job with the company after high school. Tim left Grand Rapids for four years, working out of state in refrigeration and residential and commercial heating and cooling. He returned to Grand Rapids and Engelsma Heating & Cooling in 2011 to take over the company.

Engelsma Heating & Cooling is a Bryant Factory Authorized Dealer with a North American Technician Excellence Certification, the leading certification for technicians working in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration field. Engelsma installs replacement furnaces and air conditioning systems in older homes and complete systems in new home construction. Engelsma also installs geothermal systems for new construction, and offers air conditioning and furnace repair.
